I took a private room with bathroom and it was perfect and very cheap!.Everything seemed new. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom perfectly clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They recommended a place nearby for dinner with big, delicious and cheap plates. It's far from the city center and you have to be careful with the bus schedules but anyone can manage well.I would definitely go back.

it is a dissent hostel, nothing extremelly good or bad.The sheets were clean, the room was too empty but practical.Breakfast was ok as well:bread (not very fresh when i was there) with butter and honey, coffee, tea, milk.I liked the fact that everything in general was clean but plain. The building isn't too old and the receptionists were kind(and knew english...very rare in Italy). The only thing that annoyed me a bit was the bathroom. The floor was full of water and not very very clean. The second and last negative point i may notice is the long distance from the city center and the train station, but there is always the bus that takes 20 minutes to get from the station to the hostel. And another helpfull advice is that the stop near the hostel is the buses terminal(finnal stop). And keep in mind that if you are not subscibed to the hostel network then you have to pay something like 2euros extra plus the bus tickets to come and go from the hostel since walking is out of the question. In general I was shattisfied from the whole image of the San Sisto HostelThat's all.For any further explainations feal free to e-mail me.I would be really happy to help.

Turned up to the hostel at about 12.30pm, fully aware that the hostel closed between 12 and 5pm. As every single other hostel in Europe for the last 2 months had allowed us to leave our bags with them while they were closed, we assumed that this one would be exactly the same (y'know what they say about assumptions...). Anyway, we get off the bus after a 20 minute journey out of Bolgna and walk towards this hostel which is in THE middle of nowhere. There is absolutely nothing around besides the bus stop. We walked up to the gate of the hostel and tried the buzzer a few times. Nothing. If we hadn't have spoken to the nice lady inside the tourist office at the train station we just would have thought that it was closed for the winter. After a few minutes we notice a man standing inside looking out the window at us. Finally he deigned to make an appearance and stood outside the hostel, but still wouldn't actually come to the gate to talk to us (a distance of about 20 metres). He held up 5 fingers, meaning "Come back at 5 o'clock when the hostel reopens". When we asked if we could leave our bags with him until then, a flat refusal was given. We had no choice then but to go back to the bus stop, head back into town and fork out for a pension. A good excuse to grab a bit of luxury, just a shame that we couldn't have dealt with an actual human being. The hostel is so far out of Bologna, maybe that is why he was so grumpy?? Who knows ... it would be interesting to read the review of somebody who actually made it inside the front gate... :)
