Stayed here August 2005/ July 2004

Hostel location is close to railway station. Reception is fine. First time sayed here had good dorm bed and fittings for price. However, second stay turned into a disaster. 2 bed dorm with good fixtures BUT had whole afternoon sun belting thru huge glass area and was 40 degs plus. Then, of course we had the passage way lights on and off all night. We both gave up at 6am and headed for early trains.

So be careful what dorm u get!!!

Modena was definately worth a miss. I only stayed there as a convenient stop over.

Modena Youth Hostel is nicely located half way between the station and the town centre, both just a 5 minutes walk. The clean rooms and bathrooms seem to be fully refurbished recently. I had a room with 2 beds in which I was the only user. A nice place to stay for one or two nights.

Contrary to the review below the times I stayed in this hostel it was quiet. There are 2 to 4 beds in a room - but normal beds, no bunkbeds. Special favour for me were the individual lamps at the bedside. Modern furniture, clean sheets, nice staff, only 5 mins from the train station - to be recommended. Bathroom consists of big enough cubicles with a shower, and a toilet each.

The hostel was huge and the rooms were like a hotel. There is no kitchen or facility to make meals. The bathrooms needed a good clean. The staff were nice. At night the place is one big echo barn and the doors bang all night! The location, once you find it, is good and Modena is a quaint town and close to Maranello.

This place gets big groups so I'd recommend booking - it is in a quiet street on the edge of town, quite close to station.

They only had room for me for one night, but were very accomodating about me leaving my bags there.

Room was spotless, like a hotel - showers have those push buttons though!

No real ambience, or central place to hang out, but a good base to see quiet, lovely Modena.
