Had the best time at this hostel! Met lots of great people. The hostel is in a good and central location in Levanto, and I would say Levanto is the best town to explore the Cinque Terre. It's included on the Cinque Terre rail passes, but it's not as exploited and overpriced as the actual Cinque Terre. The beach is good too.

There aren't really any amenities at the hostel and the breakfast didn't impress me, but I will not hesitate to highly recommend this place!

Lavento was the perfect base to explore Cinque Terra. It is a big enough small town that you can still find things to do at night whereas the other towns seemed small and uneventful.

The hostel was nice. The rooms were huge, 8 people in a room that could easily fit 12. Internet on site, breakfast was decent. Staff were friendly and let us lock our belongings in the safe.

My only complaint is the two guys that kept showing up at 3 am to make their bed. They'd check out in the morning but then show up at 3 am again, turn on the light, and start rustling around to make their bed. Perhaps the hostel should not allow people to check in after everyone else is asleep.

I stayed here in June 2005 & loved it -- the hostel was lovely, breakfast was small but good, Levanto was a perfect home base, and we met a bunch of other backpackers at breakfast who we ended up travelling with for the next two days. I saw that another reviewer didn't like the town (Levanto) but my friends and I really enjoyed it -- it was essentially as cute as the five Cinque Terre towns, minus the hoards of tourists!

This hostel was the first I stayed in during a 4-week trip to Europe. The rooms were spacious and clean, the bathrooms were clean, the two ladies at the front desk were EXTREMELY helpful, and breakfast was included. This hostel provides sheets, bath towel, and a hand towel for free. There is a nice terrace to hang out on, and it is in a very nice part of town. Very convenient to Cinque Terre, although perhaps the nightlife might be better in one of the 5 towns. Regardless, there was a nice bar across the street. This was not a party hostel, and was not very full when I stayed there, but I really enjoyed it and recommend it wholeheartedly.

went to this ostello in september 03, and found the place to be quiet, clean and friendly staff. upon checking in, we were able to negotiate how many people would be in our room 4 person room - just the two of us! even though i would recommend going to this ostello, i found that the people in the town of levanto were quite rude. the post office woman even threw change at me and tossed her hands in the air, after i got done asking for stamps on my postcards, using spotty italian.

I stayed in this hostel in October '02 and had a really pleasent stay. There was hardly anyone else staying there due to the time of year. It was strange that this good hostel was so empty and the other ones in Cinque Terre were full. I guess it's not really a party hostel because there's a lack of a meeting place, although there is a friendly bar across the road. The main reason why I'll remember this hostel is the staff. One female staff member in particular was so kind and incredibly helpful to me. So if you are travelling up from the south on the train go the extra stop past Cinque Terre and check out this hostel in Levanto. One reason for doing so is that you'll probably have a tough time finding a bed in one of the Cinque Terre hostels. Having said all that I believe this hostel is very busy in the summer, so book ahead if you're travelling in the peak season.

This hostel was in a good location, close to the beach (but a bit of a trek from the station). Levanto is super cute with good restaurants nearby. There was a pizza place with about 30 diff't styles of pizza, most in the 5-7 euro range, so pretty decent. The beach is one of the best in the area (with rocky sand, but better than only rocks like everywhere else!). The bathrooms were great- clean and ensuite, with a powerful shower. The only complaint would be that in my 6 bed dorm room (with 6 huge lockers) only one of them actually locked!!! The others had locks that were broken. I had great travellers in my room though, so I wasn't that worried, but it is something that the hostel should fix if they want a 5***** rating next time. ;) It was great though and I totally recommend this hostel in terms of proximity to beach, cleanliness, room furniture and bathrooms, and location (1 train stop to the first 5terre town of Monterosso).

This hostel is only a few years old and this shows. It is very modern and clean, with spacy rooms and lockers. Every room (5 or 6 people) has it own bathroom! The people at the reception are very friendly and helpfull. Actually I think more of it as a hotel then as a hostel. Levanto itself is also worth the visit, it certainly has that typical Ligurain charm. There are nice walks to the tiny villages in the nearby hills you can make , but watch out! You're in Italy, so don't trust any roadsigns!! We had to make a long detour, it was fun anyway, but a good roadmap is always handy.

This is a nice hostel, and levanto is good base for exploring the 5terre. The facility is great, and location in town is perfect. Levanto has a beach, and the trail to the five isn't too far. Keep your schedule flexible, the transportation, including the trail, is sometimes not dependable.

I intended on staying only one night but, after I had the best shower I've ever had backpacking, a key for 24 hour entrance to the hostel, and a big prsonal locker with a key in one of the most beautiful towns in liguria, I figured why not stay 4!.Dorms start at 30,000 lira a night(about $18us)friendly staff and a great bar across the street open really late ,plus levanto is packed with great scenery and a cool nigtlife, plus there is a really good laudrymat not even a minutes walk from the hostel,Im definately going back!!!!
