The Roma Inn, as in: theres shit inn the showers, you will fall inn the toilet as theres no seat, just dont go inn at all. Yes i was sucked in by the shiny happy card boasting internet, and a kitchen, central location (this was true) and low price. However, when i arrived and stupidly checked in, the kitchen didnt exist and there was one computer which we couldnt use. The toilets didnt have seats, no TP, and even though im not picky about showers, theres no way i would even attempt to use these without flip flops. yuck. the staff were rude except for the chick. it was really unclean, no common room, no nothing. No breakfast. you can do much much better. uuuggggg. if ur looking for a cheap hostel, go to asterix, its clean at least....

I too was handed the fancy card at the termini station and thought Id check the place out. It was very small, rooms smelt, and there was one bathroom/toilet to everyone there. The other bathroom leaked everywhere, there was no where to put your things, the toilets were HORRIBLE. The beds were uncomfortable as well. I couldnt wait to get out of here!

Like probably many other backpackers who don't book their hostels in advance, we were tricked into this hostel by a guy who handed out fancy cards at the Termini station. The cards are nothing like the real thing!!!! It's old, dirty, overcrowded (one bathroom for like a million people or so!!) and there are no real hallways, the rooms are the hallways! So it's also not very safe. If you really can't find anything else you will not die from staying there one night, but if you can avoid it, do so !!!

This was the worst hostel I've ever ever been in. Rooms are dirty with horrible bunk beds with old uncomfortable madrases - nothing in rooms except beds. I was just expecting to see bugs coming out from the walls! Bathroom is a special story, so unhygienic, I was disgusted to take a shower there! They tricked us into paying for 3 nights right away (discounts, and the girl who took us there was so nice so we couldn't even imagine what is behind it! ), and right after we saw our room we wanted our money back because I was ill and couldn't stay in such a place. They told us to come in the morning and that they will give us the money then for sure. In the morning they said that they can't give us money because the receipt was given yesterday. After discussing for a while they had to give the money back to us, but only part of it - the rest they took in their own (private) pockets. But - we were so happy to get out from that place that we didn't care about that 10 Euros they (he - Francesco) took. For 15 euros you can find a lot better place to stay. And - as far as location is concerned - 90% of hostels are in that area so don't get carried away by it. Actually - that area where they are seemed quite dangerous!Seriously - unless you are serious drug addict - avoid this place!!!

The people who work at Roma Inn are the nicest. The toiles are very very poor, and there are absolutely no extra treats in the rooms, but I loved the style, and I want to go back!

Great location... close to Piazza Venezia, Piazza Campidoglio, the Roman Forum, and the colliseum, short walk to the Pantheon.... stone streets, VERY charming area with really sweet people and nice shops where they make everything from swords, to furniture, to stained glass. Great coffee shop across the street, and Gianni and Thelma are great. This hostel is in a great location (10mins from the station and couple of mins to Colosseum) but the place itself isn't great. The smell is awful and the fellas that work there aren't interested. The rooms are ok but not George Best and the toilet facilities are dreadful! But stay out late, get up early and its fine!

We've been to the Roma Inn for a couple of nights lately. Unfortunately, we have nothing good to say about this hostel. The rooms resemble a prison cell, neglecting the iron bars in front to complete the scenery...In comparison to other low budget hostels in Italy and around the world - It can be seen that the owner is trying to get paid for location and doesn't give any concern to as the safety and welfare of his guests...For Conclusion - An occasional smile from the night shift man doesn't make up for paying 65 Euro for a chamber in Alcatraz...

Not a bad place and there was a good pub crawl arranged the night we got there. That night finished up with me naked with a scottish girl on the roof. So altogether I had no complaints, although I did have to share a room with a sailor with incredibly smelly feet!

I learned of this hostel from a guy passing out "business cards / brochure" at the train station. It's about a 10-15 min. walk from the train station. It's not a traditional "hostel," but more of a private home feel to it, which is good for a change. There are two nice Italian brothers that run it. They have a couple private rooms and the rest are co-ed (male/female) rooms. It's about a good 10-15 min. walk to the Spanish steps. I have no complaints about this place, I had a good time there and met lots of people during my 3-days there.
