Me an my girlfriend visited Rome last Autumn. We booked the Hostel for 2 nights - more wasn´t possible over the Internet. As we arrived the manager promised us, that we can stay for the whole week and we counted on her. After the second night one of the girls, who are working there appeared in the morning and told us, that we have to leave the room , cause somebody else booked it. After a very bad argument we left this terrible hostel. We both can only warn to book here, although it is a nice place. We lost almost one day by seraching another room, cause Rome was totally overcrowded !!!

we went to this hostel with a reservation. and we did not laike the room. I told the night man and he called the manager. she started yelling at me over the phone for not liking the room. then the night man said we couldn't stay and my credit card still got charged. when I called back about this she said she was going to charge al the other days that I said I was going to stay in her hostel. and she began to yell again and hung up on me. this hostel is also in a shady inconvinient area. I am sorry to say but this has been my worst experience in the last three years of traveling.!

Sunshine 3 (The Convent) is great, July 22, 2003

We reserved a double room at Sunshine 1 but then they moved us to Sunshine 3 (called "The Convent"). This turned out to be the best thing that could happen. Sunshine 1 is rather scruffy and you couldn't even lock the door to the toilet and it lies in an area I wouldn't walk alone in after dark. Sunshine 3 however is great! 5 people share bathroom and it is very clean and a good location in a nice area (except for the trafic outside the window). If you only pay 50 Euro per night per room like we did (including a tasty unhealthy italian breakfast from a nice Romanian girl), this is a great deal.

Very lovely and clean but a bit far from the center, November 3, 2002

I got in Rome a bit late at night with nowhere to stay. The Hotel Reservation Office in the train station booked me a bed in the Sunshine hostel. I must say that I was very pleased when I got in. Staff are lovely and so are the rooms. All is very very clean and well-decorated. It is very quiet also - definitely not a party place, but ideal if you want to focus on your sightseeing and get in bed early at night.

The major drawback is that it is a little far off from the center. Is it situated about 10-15 minutes walk behind the Termini station, and as a lone-female traveller, I wouldn't walk around there on my own after 9pm.

But that is the only thing - I would definitely be seen there again if I ever have the chance!
