Overall a good experience. Negative side were several inaccuracies on the website (www.davidsflat.com). These are:

-There is no kitchen where you can cook. What possibly used to be the kitchen is a room with a sink, a cupboard, TV and a couch. Near the bathrooms are two small refrigerators.

-Directions from Fiumicino Airport (under the tab "Map") are incorrect. I couldn't find any bus that takes you to Anagnina station, neither at the airport nor in the internet. Apparently the Cotral Bus (http://www.cotralspa.it/ENG/Index.asp) used to go there. Instead you have to take the train to Termini main train station, which runs every half hour. The train takes 30 minutes and costs 11 €. From Termini it's only a short distance by foot to David's Flat. Don't rely on the "map" on the website to find the place. You'd be better off using a real map that shows all the streets. I had to ask around in order to find it. David's Flat is in a very small street between Via Lanza and Via San Martino ai Monti. There is graffiti on the walls of neighboring buildings in case that kind of thing bothers you, but you find that in many other places in Rome.

I arrived at 11:30 pm and could check-in no problem. Reception is 24 hours, even if the reception guy is sleeping.

It's better to reserve by phone than by e-mail.

The two dorm rooms on the ground floor are pretty small. In one room there are four bunk beds crammed into a small space. In the corner is a clothes cupboard and next to the beds a nightstand.

I picked this place because I didn't have to pay by credit card in advance. I just had to tell them my credit card number when reserving by phone, but nothing was charged. I paid in cash when I got there.

As to a common room, there is a small plastic table with a couple plastic chairs outside in the courtyard. There you can also hang laundry to dry. If the reception guy lets you, you can sit out there, but actually he told me after a while that it's not for guests.

Breakfast consists of a card they give you each morning that you take to a nearby cafe where you get a pastry and a cappucino or other drink of your choice.

Between 10:30 am and 2 pm you have to be outside of the hostel since there's no one at the reception (unless you tell them in advance that you want to come during this time). But David's Flat isn't a place that you really want to hang around. It's pretty much just for sleeping and showering.

The printer doesn't work, so if you want to print out a boarding ticket, you have to go to the internet cafe nearby, which costs 1 € for 30 min. plus 10 cents for each printed page.

Like I said, overall good. I will probably stay here again if I choose to come to Rome some other time.
