Very clean hostel. Friendly and helpful staff. Big rooms - we stayed in one of their doubles the first night and it was more or less hotel quality.

Only issue is that it is a bit far out of town. You can get the buses which are pretty frequent though, the staff will explain which ones to get. Station is about 10 mins walk and you could walk to town in 45 if you fancy a bit of a hike!

Oh yes, and it has good security - which does make it look a bit like a prison. Close to the football ground if you fancy catching a game (recommended).

I have heard 'less nice' things said about another hostel in Perugia (is that diplomatic enough?)

This was a very nice and spacious hostel. There is a huge area just for dining, hanging out, etc. Also there's a tv room, vending machines, 24 hour check in. The set up of the dorms is like a howard johnson motel in the U.S.- two floors of rooms surrounding a big courtyard, accessed from outside. Each room has its own clean, modern bathroom. Free sheets and a blanket. We walked a long way to the train station though - a few kilometers. Though I'm sure there's a bus for people who take the time to investigate. Overall very clean and pleasant.
