The first review of the hostel is quite thorough so i mainly write in order to add that the hostel is really situated in a very convinient place ,that is in a walking distance from the train station, even for those carrying on their backs a heavy load.

What i liked the most was the surroundings of the hostel which are typical for a town of northern Italy(civilized stone-paved street, a mixture of architecture from roman to barocque all around the hostel, and mild traffic streets).

What i found to be not so great was definitely the small size of the room.In case more than 2 people share a four bedroomed room, the situation becomes slightly slostrophobic.

So to sum up: in not so touristic periods i wouldn't say it is a hostel to avoid.

Having just returned from my first visit to Italy I must let others know about this excellent hostel. On my first night I had taken a taxi from the station due to arriving in a thunder storm, only 6 euros.I later found it was a very pleasant walk to and from the station. The 4 bedded room was very clean with individual locking cupboards. The showers were good, 4 male and female on each floor. There are no meals available at the hostel, but not to worry! For 9.50 euros you can buy a voucher at the reception which entitles you to a 2 course meal, drink and coffee, wine included, at a local restaurant. There was a similar arrangement for breakfast at a cost of 1.50 euros. During my 3 day stay I found all the staff to be helpful and patient with me (a non Italian speaking, easily confused middle aged traveller.)

The hostel has a pleasant common area with vending machines. I would definately return to this well run hostel in the future.
