BUG review
In an old but stunning canalside building, this hostel is very small with very narrow, steep staircases. It doesn’t offer much in the way of facilities besides free Wi-Fi access and a small common area. But is it homey, and the rooms are breezy, with comfortable single beds and large windows opening onto the canal. They offer breakfast, but you have to pay about €3 for it. Staff are welcoming and kind, and there are a good amount of books available in the book exchange. Bathrooms are a bit weathered, but clean enough.

The would be really nice hostel - it's in a great location, it's got friendly staff, the rooms are fine - but it's absolutely extortionately priced! Ended up paying 36 euros a night - no breakfast, and an 11pm curfew -for this place because everywhere else was booked up. Not worth that kind of money at all.

Great location, located right on a canal. Quiet hostel for the most part, but only a 1-2 minute walk to all the restaurants, bars and clubs. The bathroom & shower on the fourth floor was small but really clean. No complaints!

I liked the International budget hostel. It wasn't one of my favourites simply because the bathrooms are incredibly tiny, and they close reception at like 11pm so you really have nothing to do after that. I had a creepy guy in my room so I felt uncomfortable changing in there while he was around and I was forced to change in the hallways on many occasions. It's safe though, cameras, locker in the rooms, you get the drift, kinda pricey, but in a good location, they also have the internet.

Stayed 5 days in April 03. Location is picturesque (Prinzengracht) bounded by 2 canals, central and accessible from Central Stn. Lots of sights within walking distance. Good bars, bakery and cheap eats in the vicinity. Check out the shawerma and french fry shops. Leidsplein and Museumplein are nearby. Management is friendly, helpful and maintain clean surroundings. Amenities are a little worn but clean. Toilets and showers are tight but very clean and well lighted. The ambiance is decent, friendly and quiet. Generally a non-smoking facility. Overall value is very good.

Excellant location and the rooms are clean and comfortable. A decent sized common room with internet access and telephone. A nice place with extremely friendly bilingual staff. They'll help you find whatever you need and tell you where to go and what to see. Bathrooms are tiny but the shower rooms are big and CLEAN. The only thing is the price - around 30Euros. Would recommend if you can afford it.

I was more than happy with this hostel. It was very clean, which is a rare change most hostels I have stayed in. Access was available 24hrs a day using an easy PIN. The staff were friendly and helpful. All this made enjoying Amsterdam a lot easier. I would have given it five stars if it wasn't for the smelly bloke in the bed next to me.

It is the worst place I stayed in Europe. The location is good and beds are acceptable, but that's all. The building is old and looks dirty, bathrooms are so small that you must manuever to fit in the toilet, and the showers really stink! You may survive one night (nothing is worse), but check for other options.

The IBH is brilliantly located, near to cafés, bars, restaurants and clubs. It is basic but clean and tidy, the beds are comfy and there are big lockers. The people were so friendly and helpful and I will definately stay here again.

I loved waking up and looking out over a canal. This is located in a true canal house which even has slanted floors. It is not the cleanest hostel, but it has beds and lockers, so who's complaining. No breakfast, but the location, right near the Leidseplein, is terrific.
