BUG review
This place is pretty small, but quiet, bright, and centrally located. Some rooms are nicer than others, but they all have new flooring, television and firm mattresses. There is only a tiny common area, meaning a table and seating for about six people, in the reception room, but it is gives a homey feeling to the hostel, and guests sit around calmly and talk to the staff in the mornings. There is a television with piles of DVDs, but the traffic through there would make it hard to relax and watch a movie, and in this location you surely won’t be spending too much time inside anyway. Bathrooms are average, but the showers are a bit moldy and could use new curtains. Staff are quite friendly.

We arrived at the hostel with a good feeling after having read all the previous good reviews. This hostel definitely lived up to our expectations, the staff was helpful and friendly, a nice place to spend your stay in Amsterdam.

I tell everyone to go there .

You have to climb a really steep staircase to get in , but if you are looking to have a really good time and meet some really cool people, this is the place to go. It's in an good location. Walking distance from the train station, many "coffee shops", and nearby the red light district.

The rooms in the hostel where we stayed were very clean compared to places where we were before

the staff was very helpfull and the location off the hostel was extremly central

we went to this hostel the day after Queen's Day in Holland (big festival), so the rooms were marked way up in price . . definitely not worth it - the location is good, but there's barely any interaction between guests and the one toilet sits in a closet-sized bathroom about 5 feet away from the front desk (aka you can hear everyone pee) . . the beds were comfortable and the staff helpful though so it wasn't all bad . . check out other hostels before you pick this one . .

well it was clean and in a good location. but thats about it. no atmosphere whatsoever, no common room which made it difficult to meet people and the breakfast that was included was a tiny muffin and coffee or tea in a plastic cup. not impressed. the price exceeds what you receive.

This hostel is in a great location-- really in the center of the city. However, there isn't really much of an "atmosphere" to the hostel like we got at the Flying Pig Palace. The staff was definitely helpful, as well.
