I stayed at Whitepark Bay hostel the first time in 1994 (when it was two bare-bones dormitories with a tiny commonroom & kitchen) and the view from the front door stayed with me - stunningly beautiful even in the bitter February cold. I decided to go back in 2001 and to my joy not only were the views the same, but the hostel had been rebuild! Where the old one was rather dark and poky the new one offers open spaces with windows overlooking the bay so that sunrise and sunset fill the space with dramatic color. The rooms are comfortable and the en-suite facilities are clean and modern, the kitchen large enough for several parties to be preparing meals without treading on each other, and the staff were a delight. I hope to go there again the next time I go to Ireland and share it with my husband!

Whitepark Bay is beautiful even on a cold May(!) morning. Apart from our group of four there was only one other couple staying here so it was hard to just how friendly it would be in peak season but our stay here was very pleasant. Very clean, modern and well decorated. Best off with your own transport though.
