I am not a fussy person with hostels by any stretch of the imagination, but this place was an absolute dump!! The bunks are old and rickety, the floor in the room must have last been cleaned a year ago at best, and the bathrooms: complete filth, cold water only, smelly and can't have been cleaned in the three days I was there. I don't mean to go over the top, but like I say, I am not normally one to complain. This could, however, all be rectified if the staff were cool, but they just add to the darkness. Completely unwilling to help and sometimes they just flat ignore you. Next time I will stay with one of those dodgy guys that try and pick you up when you get off the train!!

11 p.m. curfew. Filthy, small bathrooms. Very poor kitchen. And then there's the noise: The kids stop rumbling at about 1 a.m., and start again a little after 6. It was cheap, but there are certainly better hostels in beautiful Krakow.

A good place to stay. Inexpensive. Close to the Old Town. Breakfast was in fact included when we were there (november '98). Large groups are no problem. My only reservation is it's rather strict curfew.

I actually stayed here twice (so it must not be too bad). The staff are really helpful. It's extremely cheap. The beds are quite comfortable (sheets are included). The bathroom isn't too bad (compared to what I've seen before) and the water pressure is great! Unfortunately, breakfast isn't included and the curfew rather sucks (but if you're lucky, they do make exceptions). I really liked this place because it's in a quiet part of town and not too far from the city center (about a 10 min walk). I have yet to see other hostels here, but from my experience, I would recommend it.
