I was looking for a comforable stay, away from the town, near the mountains with easy access for walking areas, and this hostel had it all. The bus access is somewhat limited but you only have to know the times in advance for efficiency, which the hostel can give you. The town of Zakopane is just a typical touristed alpine village, useful amenities but that's about it. There is a pub and small shop nearby to the hostel, excellent internet at the hostel, full breakfast, very clean and the beds are very comfortable and warm. Plenty of kitchen utensils, a good fridge and microwave, coffee maker. I totally recommend this hostel, it's worth the bus ride for sure.

I came to Zakopane originally intending to stay 4 days and left 14 days later. Emil and Lucas were fantastic, immediately making me feel welcome and inviting me to their pizza and beer night that coincides with every Man U match. They even found the Cricket World Cup online and sat around watching it with a few beers and confused looks on their faces.Goodbye Lenin is located about 40 mins walk out of town, but if you haven't come to Zakopane to hike a little then you have to ask yourself why you came!? Buses leave for town from infront of the hostel so, if you are feeling a little tired, public transport isn't far away. The facilities at the hostel were fantastic - internet; breakfast was good with cereal AND toast on offer (yes they have a toaster, a rare sight in hostels I've found); the rooms are super clean; there's a BBQ outside for the party nights; and the toilet and shower facitities are sparkling. Add to this cable television, a very cosy loungeroom, and a beautiful wooden building to stay in and you should find yourself having a great time like I did. Thanks Emil and Lucas, might see you again soon!
