felt like long walk from train station and long way from oldtown centre and nightclubs. come here because it was like a party place and for backpackers. left berlin on a high and found warsaw disappointing. it is part of a school with kids waking you up in the morning and screaming outside. every type of people staying there but nearly no other backpackers.
my travel book must be out of date.
only bread and jam for breakfast. free internet but 1 monitor doesnt work so had to wait long time. heard lots of people could not find their clothes in free laundry set up, but i got mine back just before i left.
girls working and there friends behind front desk all in polish. when i could get there attention some of them who were working there could not speak english too good. seemed like they were just there for a short time holiday job. they tried to make a guy pay more than the price on a phone card when it was clear how much the thing cost. that was bad.
the hostel was ok as some hostels go. i was kinda expecting more though.
i read the other reviews here now - too late for me - and see the place used to be super cool only something must have happened and its on the decline.

Nice hostel. I spend 2 nights there and it was quite good. The best point is the bathromm into the room and the worst is the stall breakfast..just some bread and some jam. Otherwise you have a kitchen, the rooms are so clean, free internet and trams and buses just 5 minutes on walk, the train station 15 minutes on walk. The Staff is really nice and helpful and they help with info and book Krakow's hostel

Spent 3 nights here with my girlfriend at end of august. On the whole it was very impressive- lots of communal areas (internet room, tv room, book room, kitchen, steps and benches out front), nice rooms, big lockers for everyone. kitchen was extreemely good- 2 cookers and sinks, big fridges. they also sell really cheap (50p) student day passes for all the public transport!BUT there were a few things that were annoying. considering the amount that must have been spent on the bathrooms, they could have made a few more of them (why 2 sinks in one room?!?!) as there are only a couple on each floor...also, the pub crawl managed to nick all of our drinks from the fridge (but that was ok, we had some of their beers after they'd departed!).

Pros - ok location, decent beds and rooms, free internetCons - extremely HOT upstairs common room, stale breakfast, lengthy wait (and fight) for bathroom usage, unorganised laundry (clothes scattered everywhere, find your own). Confused and unorganised staff members - I was not allowed to check in on time, after being checked in they claimed I never showed up and gave away my bed. Staff attempted to charge me again for the key which was already paid for, and also claimed I never paid for the bed. TV = couch potatoes -> boring place ! Staff shortage makes getting service difficult. All in all , cons outweight the pros.

We recently stayed at Nathan's for 2 nights and I really don't understand why every other reviewer has felt the need to rave about it. The "brand new" showers in two out of the three bathrooms on our floor were broken, we had to wait for them every time we needed to use them, and I had two shirts lost/stolen from the free laundry, with no sympathy from the staff, who were busy sitting outside smoking. Breakfast was stale toast. The three stars I have given this place are for the free internet and the comfortable beds.

The accomodation of Nathan's Villa is second to none - beautiful showers, comfortable beds, everything was clean and new. The only problem is that it is too much a 'sanctuary' for English-speaking tourists; a lot of people seemed to be hanging around in Nathan's more than getting out, and were therefore not experiencing the wonderful city of Warsaw (grey as it may be).

Just got back from Warsaw after a short 4 day break in eastern europe. We travelled as a group of 3 and only stayed in Nathans for two days and one night,(6/4/05), but will definitely be returning! Very friendly, helpfull staff and very high standards of hygiene. We paticularly liked the atmosphere and were very impressed with the facilities available, like free laundry service, free internet access, and no curfew times, (we didn't que once for a wc or shower) Brilliant!! would reccomend Nathans to anyone with no hesitation. Thank You all for making our 'Poland' experience a very positive one.

Hands-down the best hostel I've ever stayed in!!! I really can't say enough about this place. I stayed at Nathan's in Warsaw at the beginning of August on a 3-week backpacking trip around Eastern Europe. I stayed in a double room, which was unbelieveable!! The room was extremely clean (I'm very picky about cleanliness!) and everything looked brand new. There was even a private balcony overlooking the courtyard! Everything in the hostel was extremely clean during the entire time of my stay (3 days). The kitchen had a great eating area that was large and seemed to be a good spot for socializing. The staff was extremely helpful and were able to provide anything the guests needed (ie. razors, deodorant, drinks, laundry service, etc.). Although there were only 4 bathrooms in the hostel, I never had to wait more than 5 minutes for the shower, and never for the toilet. The bathrooms were so clean, they seemed as if they were constantly being cleaned! The only advice I would give is not having any clothing that is especially valuable to you washed by them; I lost several pairs of socks when I had a load done.Incredible place!!!!

I gave this hostel 5 stars, but would give it 4.5 if I could. I stayed there 3 nights with a friend in June, and it was one of the best hostels we stayed at in Europe. The location is not too far from the Underground and the main train station, and it's close to restaurants and shopping too. We stayed in a six bed room, and except for walking in on a girl and a guy doing their business in the middle of the afternoon in our room, the stay was very good. The bathrooms have been recently remodled, and are HUGE, and clean. The bathroom was as big as some of the other six bed rooms at other hostels. The staff was helpful, and spoke good English. The only negative was that when all the hostel beds were booked, the staff let people sleep on the floor in the commons rooms and hallways, so we couldn't watch TV.
