It´s not that close to city center, and it´s on disappointing residential neighbourhood. Nevertheless, the conditions are ok and the service fine.

This is a clean, pleasant hostel, located in a nice residential neighborhood. It is a bit of a walk to the center, but a bus line to the city center and rail station is located nearby. The rooms are small, but have only a few beds, which are of good quality. In addition to the long lockout and curfew, there is little place to socialize here. Unfortunately, these types of hostels also host schoolgroups, which can be obnoxious and don't help the backpacker social scene. If you are visiting Coimbra and require hostel accomodation, it is your only choice, and not a bad one. But don't go out of your way to stay here.
