The Vila 11 is run by a Canadian woman married to a Romanian; she has three well behaved intelligent teen aged children. The Vila 11 offers an excellent introduction to Romanian family life. The family is a mine of information. The hostel itself is near the Gare Nord. Exit platform #1, turn right, walk one block, turn left at the first intersection, & walk two blocks. The hostel is on the corner. The hostel itself is spotless, comfortable, with good hot water & is near major bus routes. I took a private room which was well decorated & very homey. A minor drawback is that all rooms are upstairs. Despite the location, the hostel is very quiet. If you're looking for a party hostel, go elsewhere. The price includes a pancake breakfast. My only complaint is the lack of a comfortable common room; guests gather in the lobby or the dining room. Deborah does everything to ensure that guests have a pleasant time.
