Got mugged by a russian guy during the night + he used my credit card 500 Euros.I asked the receptionist to wait untill Monday with the payment (was week end) because I needed to contact my bank to unblock my card.Got accused of inventing the story strait forward; Since the guy is a Russian wich makes him automaticaly honest, and me an evil westerner or rather southern(er) lier to her eyes.Of course if you look like you are comming from Norway the story may have been a different one.ps the location is not so great either the street is gray and not close to anything intressting, about 15 -20 min on foot from Nevsky, and when you are comming back from a party or a bar its a reall b** to walk that distance on -5C°. Lots of other hostels closer to Nevsky, and with better staff too.

This hostel is in a pretty good location, close to the major streets and not far from the nearest metro stop. It's located on the 2/3 floors, and right near a cool internet cafe which serves food and drinks. Mosquito nets cover the windows in summer, and rooms are clean and the place was frankly, quite busy during my stay. Washrooms are clean, although don't expect too much for water pressure. Breakfast is basic, and staff is quite friendly.

Relatively clean hostel in a decent area -- accessible to all major sites. The staff is friendly (except for the breakfast lady) and speaks English fairly well, and they´re incredibly helpful with Visas! Breakfast was acceptible, though the food in Russia isn´t exactly fantastic. One issue worth mentioning...there was a major mosquito problem (there are little blood stains all over the sheets), but they offer a plug-in repellent at the main desk for a cheap price. I would return to this hostel.

The staff was friendly and the rooms were plain but nice. It's on a walking distance from Nevsky Prospect and nearby tourist places.
