BUG review
This good value hostel caters mostly to long-term guests. It has a TV lounge and a small, but nice, kitchen.

Having stayed in most hostels in Edinburgh over three years of travelling Europe on and off, I rate Highlander Backpackers as the number one choice in the city whether staying long term or short term. The staff are very friendly, the loungeroom has lots of colourful comfy couches and the kitchen has everything you could need. It just feels like a home away from home. I can not say enough good things about this place and I will definitely return.

I have not stayed there myself but my eldest daughter has stayed there 3 times and lived there for a couple of months. Was VERY happy there. Found it cosy and friendly and several others lived there for a few months as well. My younger daughter now works there and lives there and loves it.

This was the cheapest place we could find in Edinburgh, but you really get what you pay for. It was cramped and dirty, and people in the dorm were snoring and smelly. Furthermore, the location is not so great, and you get no breakfast in the morning. I really hated this place.

The accomodation is very cheap for the amount of room that you get. It's always clean. The staff are very friendly, especially Dave (I think he's the manager), always makes you laugh.
