Whilst staying here I went through a number of emotions. First came shocked and appalled when we were informed that our room had changed from a 4 bed dorm, as we had agreed via email, to an 16 bed dorm. I let this slide.Next came disgust, when I went into the bathroom, where the toilet twiined with shower cubicle was covered in grime and the door was unable to shut unless i stood on the toilet seat to make room to shut it.Then we have discomfort, as the beds in the dorm had matresses with broken springs and discoloured sheets. To add to all of this, one of my party was effectively swindled out of £30, and it was claimed that this was the rate we had agreed on. When confronted with an email proving the rate we had agreed on, we were given the option of moving hostels. Given that this was during the height of the Edinburgh festival, this suggestion was eminently useless.Simply going onto the website and reacquainting myself with the facade of this building has given me the shivers and shakes and I am writing this review to prevent any other unsuspecting traveller from suffering in the same way as I did.
