This is by far the best hostel I've stayed in while traveling in Europe. The place is immaculate, clean bathrooms, clean rooms, clean sheets. A full kitchen for making meals and full bathrooms, which were spotless. The manager, Chris, was great, helpful and able to answer any questions I had about St Andrews. Very secure keyed entry to the building and the rooms, and only 6-8 people per room, so not like the 20-person rooms I've encountered. And at only 12 pounds, you can't beat the price. Only 2 minutes from the bus station and grocery store, and 5 minutes from the Old Course at St Andrews, if you're in Andrews for golf. Lots of bars and restaurants within minutes too, so a great central location. Definitely recommend staying here if you're ever in the area.

This was by far the best hostel I've ever stayed in. It has a great location in the centre of town and right by the bus stop, the staff were very friendly and helpful and there is a great TV lounge with Sky to chill out in! The kitchen was very well equipped and clean, the dorms were bright - not the most comfortable beds ever, but that's not important when they have the best bathrooms ever! It was actually a proper full-sized bathroom with shower and toilet, like you get in the real world of civilisation, meaning that you could spread your clothes and belongings out and not have to get changed whilst standing in a puddle! It was all exceptionally clean, great decor and a real home away from home. It was a little pricey (and there's a £5 deposit for the key) but definitely worth it, I wish I could have stayed longer.

We spent one night in this hostel. Staff was friendly and helpful, especially about site-seeing. Our room was clean though rather bare. There were bunkbeds and we were provided with thick duvets and sleepsheets. Room was extremely cold since our window was broken, the heater didn't work and we were on the top story (slate roof with no insulation). Really great self-catering kitchen with washing machine (though we didn't use it), all the necessary stuff for cooking, even a 'free' cabinet with useful stuff like salt, sugar, etc. A very nice common area with TV/VCR, stereo, tables, couches, etc. Bathrooms were clean though showers lacked pressure. Not a big deal, though. Very homey and pretty good deal for about 13 pounds. Only hostel in town, though. Especially for off-season travel.
