BUG review
Right across the river from the Glen Nevis Visitor Centre, the hostel sites next to Achintee Farmhouse (B&B and self catering). It is suited to hill walkers and climbers with a fabulous drying room for your typically sodden clothes (this can be a very wet part of the country). There’s also golf, mountain biking, canoeing, fishing and horse riding all nearby.

The Ben Nevis Bunkhouse is NOT the same as the Achintee Farm Hostel--see previous review. We stayed at Achintee Farm for several nights after completing the West Highland Way in July 2004. Hostel accommodations were very comfortable and quiet. We walked up to the Ben Nevis Inn for dinner, or cooked our own at the hostel. Scot gave us lots of good info on how to spend our time and gave us and our backpacks a lift to the bus station on the morning we left. The shuttle bus is a quick and convenient way into Fort William or up the glen. We liked the rural atmosphere of Achintee Farm, the view of Ben Nevis, and the hospitality of our hosts.

My friend and I stayed at the Ben Nevis Bunkhouse for 8 nights. The bunkhouse is basic but clean and very usable with a good drying room - very important in Fort William where all the worlds rain originates! Upstairs is the bar and restaurant, lovely place where the food is good and the guiness is pulled by friendly barmen. At £9 per night, if you are in Fort William you can't go past it.
