BUG Review
This is a very well equipped modernised hostel, spanking clean with a very good kitchen and several good common areas including TV and Internet, all with excellent views. The spacious dorms have washbasins. Large groups are accommodated in a separate building. It is designed to cater for young backpackers and families.
Price Dorm bed £14-16 (£13-15 HI/SYHA) Prices are in British pounds and are inclusive of all taxes.
I stayed here on the 3 day Haggis tour and I did not find it to be very nice. It was the only YHA hostel i've stayed in and I hope that most of them are better than that. The staff was strange, and breakfast was not free. I think that hostels should all have free breakfast, it's not like it costs very much. This was the only time in my month long trip that I actually had to use my sleep sheet. I thought that sheets on the bed were gross and the bunk beds were some of the worst that I saw on my trip. The shower is another story altogether, and it took me a long time to figure out how to turn it on with the light switch, pull cord and then shower switch. It could have been much simplier. It's a nice little town, but next time i'll opt for the other hostel next door.

The only disapointing part of the 3 day tour we were on possibly was this hostel. From the very unfriendly checkin by the Elderley Couple who obviously own this Rubbish, basically made everyone feel bad as they were expecting young adults to misbehave! The lady on checkin was about as friendly as a hungry Hairy Coo and the beds uncomfy, pillows were paper thin and no hot showers in our section, which from what i can gather was the norm throughout. The Isle of Skye was beautiful, but this hostel could do with an extreme makeover.

Stayed for one night here. Comfy beds, very clean, good showers and friendly staff. All you need in one place. Pub is across the road and lots of information re tours of Skye.

The Isle of Skye is kind of isolated but this hostel was great. The employees were very helpful and lots of fun. The services are well organized, and the rooms are clean, and the showers are better than most. Definitely recommended. Have both dorms and a twin room.
