BUG review
This hostel is an old, plain building on a hillside with a tremendous view of the strait. It features a well equipped but plain kitchen and a long narrow dining/common room with a TV at one end, feeling not very homely. The single-sex dorms are cosier and the bathrooms are good. There is a self-contained annexe with a TV in the dorm, best for a family. The easy-going owner is a tour guide and a native of Skye, and he will pick you up from the ferry in Armadale. It’s very quiet, not ideal if you are the only person there, but a group could have a lively time.

This hostel is owned by a retired couple. The man is old and sleazy and flirted openly with my female 30 year old friend offering her money. The lady was so rude and unprofessional we had to leave. She also walked through the whole hostel with a lit cigarette in her hand. The dorms were allegedly single sex, but 3 adult males were allocated to our female dorm. As single women my friend and I were a little uncomfortable. When we flagged this up to the lady owner she told us if we didn't like it we could leave. So we did. I will never return to this hostel and would strongly discourage others from staying there.
