BUG Review
This bunkhouse lies among trees near a main road junction with a hotel amid desolate moor land, with an amazing view of the Cuillin Mountains (or clouds). There are no staff on site, you check in at the hotel. It is spacious, well equipped and maintained with a very good kitchen/eating area, a comfortable common room with coal fire and radio/CD player (no TV), and a good laundry with drying rack. The dorms are good, but the bathrooms are substandard. It’s an ideal base for fine hikes along marked trails or for climbing Britain’s most rugged mountains. However it has a damp feel inside due to the climate and having to keep windows and doors shut against midges. It could feel very bleak in a rainy spell, though there is good heating available (extra charge).

Good position but a bad place to stay. Green mould on the mattress. Overcrowded, damp. Avoid yuch!!!, October 1, 2008
Reviewer: tODDY from Glasgow, a fine city.

Pros: Real ale pub nearbye
Cons: The toilets and shower 40 men using one WC after drinking real ale and arriving back at 1am. Noisy.

Great location but the hostel is disgusting. Adequate lounge and kitchen but THE toilet shared by c.40 people was terrible and the two showers were mouldy. Windows did not open and sharing a room with five snoring beer drinkers (the beer in the pub is good) was too much. Never slept a wink. Never again. Take a tent. The Cullin mountains and Skye are fabulous but this was a bad experience.
