This absolute beauty of a converted watermill houses a smart hostel. It’s extremely peaceful but still just minutes away from Thurso town centre. The quality of the renovation and the rooms makes for a very comfortable stay and it’s popular with all types of travellers – well, the ones they get up here! Meals are available and are decently priced.

I stayed in this hostel for one night in July 2004. The hostel is actually an old mill, which is placed in a little park in the near of the River Thurso and of the city center. Allan, the manager of the hostel, shows you around and presents a wonderful breakfast in the morning, which is included in the price!!! It has a comfy tv-lounge and even a pool table! I was really surprises, how clean the hostel is, I found no dirt or even dust! Unfortunately, there were not very much people in the hostel, so I felt rather alone, but if there had been many people, it would have been a lot of fun. VISIT THIS HOSTEL!
