BUG Review
Located on an extensive organic farm, this hostel has great character. Its one dormitory, while basic, is extremely comfortable and clean. Cooking facilities are limited, although the bathrooms are almost palatial. The owners live on site and are able to give help with transport and other difficulties. It is beautifully situated and you can enjoy views over rural South Ronaldsay and the coastline. Camping is also available.

if you have a car, this place is excellent: just across the island from the ferry. we arrived late in the evening, to be greeted by the owner and a very cute kitten - subsequently, the kitten and her brother visited us every day. the hostel is open plan, and three of us had the whole place to ourselves. the bathrooms are separate but lovely, and the kitchen is small but very workable (we even made scones!). we also purchased lovely fresh organic vegies from the owners. we loved orkney, and we loved this bothy, and we would have stayed longer if skye hadn't beckoned to us! one day we'll go back again...
