BUG review
The small Rowardennan SYHA hostel is within the national park. The hostel has the usual youth hostel facilities including a small kitchen and a TV lounge and it boasts lovely views of Loch Lomond.

A real gem to find. As with all YHA buildings some rules apply but they are for guest benefits. The building is amazing with a view to die for. Dave pops up all over the place, National park and all. Wilma looks after the hostel wonderfuly and it was really clean and warm. Good kitchen but am told it is to be even better soon. Rooms were not big at all with the most beds in one only 8. Set only a few metres from the loch edge and Ben Lomond behind. This with bieng on the West Highland Way make it well placed.

Ok, so day two of the West Highland Way, and day two of my hiking holiday. Was exhausted and desperate to get to the hostel, and very pleased with what I found. Like most of the YHA hostels it feels like a bit of an institution, no getting away from that, but in the most beautiful setting right on the eastern (?) shores of Loch Lomond. Is immaculately clean, with hot hot showers, nice rooms (all with your own key) big kitchen and dining areas, free tea and coffee!, and a fantastic lounge with big bay windows overlooking the loch. Really enjoyed my couple of nights here, and the staff were lovely too.
