BUG review
This small hostel is in a Victorian building in the city centre just a couple of minutes from the bus and train stations. It has a good social atmosphere with a good kitchen and a cosy lounge with books, games, Internet access and a tiny TV.

The most disgusting hostel I've ever stayed in!

This hostel is the most disgusting one I've ever stayed in. Where can I start? The beds hadn't been made up, my sister's bed was covered with pubic hair. The manager didn't feel embarassed about that at all , didn't even excuse. The pillows and duvets stank, and there was such a terrible smell in the 16-bed dorm I've not experienced before. When entering you wanted to stop breathing.

In the nights we couldn't sleep because of all the drunk yelling in front of the windows. Also with the windows open the smell and the heat were unbearable.

There was one tiny washing bassin for the whole dorm, the toilets were old, the carpet loosening due to contact to urine. O, I forgot the showers: they were flooded, when switching them on you stood in dirty brown water up to the ankles. There was fungus everywhere.

The manager was quite astonished why we didn't appreciate his hygienic standards.

And last but not least: all three of us got fleas from this place!

Well situated during the day but a nightmare at night (could not sleep all night because some drunk people were yelling all night on the street in front of the hostel...and I had earplugs !!). The bedsheets had not been changed from the last customers..there was hair (and more) all over the pillows and the sheets !!...So could my husband and I did not sleep at all...it's the worst place I ever been.

When I told one of the employee (I think she was a manager) she did not care about what I was saying...

The toilets were also not clean. My sister who was also renting a room with her 2 children had to pay more (£10 more because she was with 2 children and not one adult and one child).

This hostel is in a great location - very close to the train station, and the stop for the tour bus is right outside the door. The service was good, and the girl at the front desk did our laundry for a cheap price - though I'm not sure how clean it was. The main problem was the smell in the bedroom was enough to make a person gag. The odor of bodies and foot funk was absolutely sickening. I woke up in the middle of the night nearly choking because of the smell, and thought for sure I was about to vomit. I considered sticking my ear plugs in my nostrils, but didn't think it would help much. The smell was actually bearable until some idiot got up in the middle of the night and shut the windows! After that, the air became almost too thick to breathe. This was only one of many hostels we stayed at during our three weeks in Europe, and we stayed in many 6,8 and 10 bed rooms. Unfortunately, the smell of the 10 bed room at this hostel made it one of the worst we stayed at.

This hostel is great, it's very central, clean and comfy. I really enjoyed to stay there, the staff was helpful and the atmosphere was great. In the hostel even lives a dog, which makes you feel at home. The only negative point is, that there are not many showers, but you can handle this. Stirling itself is nice, but don't stay longer than 2 nights, because you will have seen everything by then.

After arriving by train in Stirling, it tooks us less than 2 minutes to walk to the Willy Wallace Hostel. It is incredibly central in town, with everything you could need at your doorstep. On our arrival we were greeted by the very friendly manager Steve, who welcomed us to Stirling and told us all we needed to know about the hostel. From our very comfortable room we had a great view of the town. The facilities there are great, with a large kitchen and very relaxed lounge. There really is nothing that I can complain about this hostel at all. I had planned only staying one night, and stayed three, and to me that sums up how great this hostel is!

Staff are nice and helpful. The rooms are big and airy, beds are comfy, and the place is really clean. Great location in the centre of town.
