BUG review
This very basic hostel has a welcoming feel and should be very sociable. The kitchen and bathrooms are simple but have all you need, and there’s a common area but without easy chairs. The guests keep the hostel clean. It is nicely located in open country not far from the main bus route and close to a long beach, and you can hike to the Uist Mountains from here.

This is a basic hostel with very limited facilities which is part of its charm. 2 blackhouses make this hostel, one contains 14 beds, a toilet and sink. The other house only has 3 beds but this is the main part of hostel with cooking facilities, 2x gas burners, microwave toaster and kettle along with 2 sinks. It has a communal table around which are about 10 chairs. Board games and books are available as well as a radio but signal is very poorI stayed her in November weather was fine and I was only one there. With the limited space and cooking facilities could be a bit squashed if the hostel was fullBest bit about this hostel is the location, very quiet about 5 minutes walk from Howmore beach which is beautifulThe hostel is slightly off the road and the track is a bit muddy. I would also recommend a torch especially early season or late season.Work surfaces look a bit grubby, gas burners are not the best in the world. Beds are comfy, the palce is warm and dry and for £10 per night well worth it.The beach at Howmore is great for taking photographs, luckily I was there and there were some beautiful sunsets
