No character at all (if you are looking for it), but very practical, safe, and reasonably priced--maybe the cheapest you can find for the quality. We had a double room, so plenty of privacy. We weren't lucky enough to have heating in winter, but they provide LOTS of extra blankets so it was still warm. Staff is helpful with information about buses to different parts of the town. Far from center, but accessible by bus (take the 8 for a 20 min ride to bus station or the 9 from the bus station for a 30 min ride to hostel). The barrio can be pretty dead in winter, though I imagine it is more lively in warmer days

We had a double room for 18 Euros as a whole. It is very quiet during the night. For the winter there are two extra heatings for each room.It is a bit far away from the center of the city. You have to walk about 15 minutes to the center of the city. They are very clean. The bathroom is clean, too.For the breakfast you can take many rolls with a hot chocolate and a juice or milk. There is no curfew.

The price is laughably cheap by European standards and good by Andalucian, the staff were helpful, friendly and there's always someone on the desk -so security is good. The hostel is a bit out of the way, not so close to the centre(for walking) but the no. 9 bus will drop you right outside for about a euro. ( Just tell the driver to give you a shout ) There's a cinema and supermarket just down the road- where you can stock up on supplies(Spainish chocolate- the VHS size- only 33 cents!!)or catch a movie at midnight. The hostel is clean and the rooms are pretty spacey,I think max per room is four people-maybe. (No twenty person dorm rooms here!) No ensuites but no bunks either. The building is a few stories high with room for 100+ punters so when the high season comes around there's always plenty of people here to meet. There's a swimming pool out back which I say would be pretty nice in summer and probably a good communal area too. The only bad thing is there is no kitchen facility to cook or heat any food you buy(but this is true for the vast majority of the HI hostels in Andalucia) . One other thing which can be good for some and not for others is the breakfast time. If you're the type that likes to get going early then you won't like the fact that breakfast starts at 9, but if you're lazy and have been to too many hostels like me where breakfast is over by 8 then you'll enjoy the layed back ways of Andalucia.

Institutional, clean and a bit out of the way, the beds are comfy and the rooms relatively spacious. A fair ways out of the center of the city (It´s the 5 storey dorm building past the football fields). Aside from being hard to find, 8.80 can´t be beat for a hot shower, good night´s sleep and basic breakfast. Oh, and test the shower before stripping, some trickle cold water while others are steamy waterfalls!
