i stayed two nights at the residencia universitaria...both were uneventful. my room was clean, but not entirely quiet, being streetside. actual prices for this hostel are 21 per night with a shared external bathroom and 27 with a private one in the room. with that you get breakfast, make sure to be there between 7-10. there is also free internet to be used during the mealtimes in the cafeteria, however it wasn't working while i was there. the staff is friendly and helpful and will tell you about málaga and other great places to visit in andalucía if you ask. bus #2 takes you back and forth to málaga centro. málaga has a really good feel to it, i think when i return i will try a different hostel. not that this one wasn't perfectly adequate, but i found it a bit pricey for what it was, and i enjoy meeting other travelers, for which there wasn't much opportunity here.
