Pros: helpful staff, great looking building, very clean, a kitchen to use, good location, open 24 hours.
Cons: no elevator :-( and the street was hard to find the first time.

We were in Barcelona in September 2010. we stayed in a room of four for the first three days but had to change to a room of six for our last night. no problem, there was plenty of space and they clean every day. ( actually that was a problem the morning after the night we went out; no rest for the wicked ). there's a locker for each person in the room, but we rented an extra locker in reception for my laptop and our passports and stuff. the showers were normal; not really anywhere to hang your clothes, but they were clean and there was plenty of hot water. the kitchen was great ! we had to pan-fry our frozen pizza because the oven was out of order, but we met some crazy french and shared a big pasta meal with them one night and made Spanish Omelettes the next night. the common room was great for meeting people too, though I think they kicked us out at midnight. actually the staff was very helpful and showed us where to find some night life and also recommended a couple of tapas bars. they also warned us about pickpockets, thank god ! someone tried to rob me on our second night in Barcelona, but I'd left everything in my locker and they didn't get anything. the staff was also really helpful showing us where to find Gaudi stuff and the Picasso museum and other touristy stuff. they gave us a free map and pointed everything out. also, we were able to leave our luggage in the common room, the day we checked out. we went down to the port and had a great paella :-) all in all we had a great stay. I'll definately be back.

I stayed at this hostel in July and found it to be OK. The rooms were reasonable even if a bit cramped and pretty hot. Its a pretty well priced hostel for the location (close to La Rambla) if you can handle a bit of a urine smell on the way.

I found the staff really friendly and as we left early in the morning they even provided a take away breakfast for us!

The bathrooms are clean although there are only tzo showers (in female side) so be prepared to wait or shower at odd times.

Overall an OK hostel for the price.

I decided to stay in this hostel because it was the cheapest one i found in Barcelona (18 euros/night in Summer) which was really in the city center (+). It was ok but really NOISY during the night!!! Otherwise the kitchen was a bit small and the showers were fast always stuck... Notice that the breakfast is from 8 to 9.30, a bit too early for lots of people especially me :0) Another bad point is that you can't go in between 3 and 7 p.m. (can be a problem if you want to go out...) So, this hostel is nothing special but if you aren't complicate and stay just a few nights it'll be ok.

Located in the citycenter of old Barcelona, means Barri Gotic. Very good for someone who likes to go out for dinner or a pub at night because there are many just around as well as little shops. The streets are tiny so you might have a little problem to find the adress in your map. The rooms I have seen were 6 bed rooms, to each bed belong one locker which is free. But don't trust to much in them! The beds are made of iron and make some noise while you are turning at night, the area is quiet. To get in you have to ring the bell and to pass the reception desk, seems secure. The staff was ok. The common room closes at 12 pm, to keep quiet at night. You can be sure to meet some other guests in the common room or in the kitchen - good social contact possible! Little breakfast is included. Remember that for dinner it is a bit full in the kitchen, you might have to wait for cook something at the oven. It is reasonable clean. All together a hostel I can really recommend.

I stayed at this place in September 2003, and it was decent hostel. It was reasonably quiet - little street noise, close to Ramblas, subway, and pubs/clubs. I found the staff reasonably friendly. It has a medium kitchen where you can cook food, tables where you can sit and chat, read etc.

The bathrooms were reasonable. The place was clean and I loved the building! Although anyone who has difficulties with stairs should avoid. There is a mini supermarket around the corner. EasyInternet close by on Ramblas.

I didn't feel terribly confident with the lockers. And you probably need to be a bit warey in that area at night. Although the hostel and building are very secure. You have a main door to the building, and then a door to the hostel, and you have to walk past the front desk to get to the rooms.
