This hostel is in a pretty bad location for Barcelona. You will have to catch the train to get anywhere which is annoying at night. The worst thing about this place is how anally retentive they are about noise. Beyond 10pm any noise is forbidden. The kitchen is tiny, only one person can fit in there at a time.

The good things are that it's extremely clean. But I found the lockout, the noise curfew and the general pedantic nature of the staff was really constrictive to my enjoyment.

Pros: Spotlessly clean, nice sensible sized dorms, free locker (key provided so no padlock required), 5 min walk from Barcelona Sants (major train station with direct trains to/from the main airport), sensibly priced vending machines, very friendly staff, nice common room, excellent patisserie that does great pain au chocolats just across the street, a small DVD library, linen is provided, sensibly priced laundry, free breakkie (read: cheap bread & margarine and weird marmalade & tea/coffee - definitely not fantastic), free internet (albeit very slowwwwwwwwwwwwwww.........).

Cons: They´re really anal about noise after 11pm (bother with the neighbours or something), so no parties, the TV has to be on ultra quiet or preferably off, hell you aren't even allowed to use the showers!). Also, the kitchen is utter crap (only a microwave and minature oven, no hobs for cooking saucepan based meals). If you have the cash to eat out (there are some nice eat as much as you want places in the centre, and you don´t want a party hostel, this is great. If you can´t afford eating out and/or want an atmosphere of any description whatsoever, this probably ain´t the hostel for you.

This is like home but full of peple from everywhere! Everything was brand new, dorms, painted in different colors had a relaxing atmosphere, full of light and loads of space for everyone. The common area is cozy but big, peolpe would stay at night watching a film all together or just chatting, that´s how you really meet and exchange, that´s what a hostel should be!

I´m sure I´ll go back!!!
