This hostel is huge and insanely hot. They had us staying on the fifth floor (no elevators) with a window that opened up about 6 inches and no air conditioning. hot air rises! The mugginess of the room only added to the discomfort of sleeping on a foam mattress surrounded by 6 other sweaty tired kids.True, there is no curfew, however i fault the hostel on this policy in that there is no buzzer to get in, only a sliding door, and often the front desk attendant was away at lunch, dinner, etc. thus, any old joe off the street can wander in at any time of day and night. also the area, though full of people, was certainly not the safest.if you stay here, make sure you lock up EVERYTHING you own in the lockers provided in the rooms. the sheets that i paid the hostel for ($2E) were stolen off my bed during the day, along with shampoo and the clothes i had slept in the night before. who would believe someone would desire a sweaty nightshirt with spray paint all over it? i paid $18E per night for this place (i am under 26). better than the street but not by much.

Center Ramblas lacks in atmosphere, but it makes up for it in cleanliness. Free sheets are available for the asking (although they tend to run out, and the fitted sheets don't fit on the beds) and the bathrooms are pretty spic-n-span. Good location, only a block or two away from Las Ramblas, the old city, and the metro. Free breakfast, but it kinda sucked and was definately worth sleeping through. The only annoying thing is that when I was there a school group was there, so there were a bunch of very very loud 13-16 year olds running around screaming and dodging their chaperones. My advice is to hang out at Kabul, which is only 3 or 4 blocks away, to meet other travellers and then return to Ramblas for a peaceful sleep.

Great location, no curfew. We got a room with four beds but you can get a room with up to 10 people. Free sheets, free locker, free breakfast (not very good though). Staff is friendly. Decent bathrooms. Air conditioning! Overall one of the best hostels I stayed at. Not a great place to meet people, though.

The location was great - just off of Las Ramblas, and within walking distance to a lot of great attractions. My 2 friends and I were placed in a private room - which was an added plus. The room started off fairly clean. However, workmen used our room to get to the terrace to do painting, during lockout hours. In doing so, they tracked TONS of dust into our room - everything was covered with a powder-like substance. Also, we came home one night to find our generally locked door wide open - as they had forgotten to close it. The staff was kind of rude, and didn't seem to care. We were going to be out all the next day, and we asked them to make sure the door was closed when the workmen left. They just kept saying that that wasn't supposed to happen. Also, in 4 days, I was never able to take a hot shower. I tried morning, noon and night - but the water was always ice cold.Overall, there were some good and bad things about the hostel. Not bad for a few nights, but I definitely wouldn't recommend a long term stay.

After having spent some nights in a few dirty, sketchy Barcelona hotels, this clean, friendly hostel was a welcome place! Its in a great location, right off La Rambla, the rooms and beds are clean and fairly new. They have lockers in the rooms that give you back your money! You can come and go as you please, no lock outs etc, they have a laundry and a small social area. If you're really into hostel life, this probably isn't the place for you, but if you are more interested in the city and just want an inexpensive, clean place to sleep it does the job. The only problems were that in a full room there wasn't adequate venhilation and it got extremely hot and the showers were mostly cold. The staff were friendly though and most travelers were respectful.
