This was a fantastic little hostel. The view from our room (Jungfrau room) was so lovely & the facilities were super clean! In fact the showers were probably the best in all the hostels we stayed in, in Europe! It had a nice atmosphere & was in a great location. If you go to Interlaken though, plan to ski/snowboard as the town can be a bit sleepy :) Definitely worth it for the views though :)

Having travelled the world over the last 15 years, I often read reviews like this with some scepticism! Thankfully the below reviews convinced me to stay here for 4 days in January 2006. All I can say is that the place is superb! Clean, friendly staff who actually help you find ways to save $$ on train tickets, ski hire etc. Bathrooms are spotless and it is quiet! As others have said if you want to party stay elsewhere but if you want a central location that enables you to take day trips into the Alps - Summer or Winter, have good breakfasts and have staff that are really friendly and know the region then stay here. Rarely do you find such great customer service even in the best 5 stars - I have stayed at plenty of those too in my time.Prior to my trip i sent the staff a list of queries re train travel to Interlaken, ski packages etc. and i got a response within 24 hours.Tip - If you want to visit Jungfrau (Top of Europe) this Hostel has a deal with railways where you get a 50% reduction when you show the voucher at the railway station, makes what is an expensive ticket more affordableAll in All a brilliant place to locate yourself and soak up what is a truly beautiful country. Also they take most Credit cards including AMEX.

We enjoyed our stay at the Villa. The staff were helpful, the beds were comfortable and everything was very clean. The breakfast wasn't very good - even for a continental breakfast. The early check out (930am) is a bummer too. The view from our room was superb. Overall we would stay there again.

This hostel is in a fantastic location, near the centre and both train stations. Rooms were clean and comfortable with big, secure lockers. The kitchen facility makes it really easy to self-cater. The hostel's garden is a great place to chill out and enjoy views of the mountains. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful; they planned daytrips with us, changed money and generally helped us to make the most of our stay in this lovely place.

stayed here for one night, and cant really fault it. close to both train stations, amazingly clean, huge lockers, staff extremely helpful, nice showers. there is no curfew, but it isnt exactly lively. if you want to party, stay at balmers, if u want to relax, stay here. it also has a really nice breakfast included.

I stayed there on X'mas,2003. It's very well maintained, the reception was very kind to provide all kind of infoemation,.. ex: how to get to the Jungfraujoch and also you can buy the discount train ticket there...The room is very clean, cosy with individul security lockers and balcony where you can see the beautiful scenary of mountains...Bathroom is very clean too, got hot shower 24h. The kitchen is fully equiped, very neat, it's the best kitchen I have ever seen..:) This is such a cool place to stay!Don't miss it!

Im so glad I chose to stay here, it was great the rooms are big and truly spotless with your own locker and a basin in the room. The beds were comfortable and the place is quiet at night. The showers were unbelievably clean. The breakfast was huge and got you going for the day, not the usual coffee and pastry rations. The net was a little expensive, though just send e-post cards which are free from the computers. The cooking facilities were the best we found in the 3 months we were away. The staff were extremely helpful giving advice on where to go. Stay here.

The beds here were the best we slept in on our trip. Nice new looking sheets and duvets, and ergonomic looking beds with slats which you can prop up at either end. Fantastic kitchen and breakfasts (in fact I think the breakfasts were the best we had too!). Friendly and helpful staff and all the info you need to plan your time in Interlaken. Handy to the shops and about a 10-15 min walk from either train station. The only downside was that there was a noisy group of teenagers staying there with what appeared to be minimal supervision and if you happened to be eating breakfast at the same time, the peacefulness of the place was temporarily shattered. We would stay here again though, and take our chances with such groups.

This was my second hostel on my European trip, and I fear it ruined me for the remainder ... this places is just great. The rooms have six beds each, w/enough moving-around space for everybody. You get your own locker that actually locks, plus a key to the room door and a key to the front door of the building (b/c there's no curfew or lockout). The bed was amazingly comfy ... even at home I drool about it. Nice little touches, like a shelf above the bed where you can put your glasses, alarm, etc. Downstairs there's internet for a reasonable price, laundry, really great kitchen, movie room, and of course unbeatable views of the Jungfrau. And breakfast -- wow, enough of the superlatives, but it's fab -- all the muslie (sp), bread, juice, coffee, etc. you want. Plus the people are super nice. I would say that if you're looking for a place to party, this isn't it: go to Balmers or Funny Farm. But if you're looking for a really nice place to just relax, meet a diverse group of travelers, and enjoy Interlaken and its environs, COME HERE.

This hostel was the best one I stayed at in all of Western Europe. It was clean, the dorm rooms are huge, the staff is incredibly friendly and the breakfast that is included was the best, cereal, bread, juice, coffee. The room with the view and balcony is well worth the extra few francs. The place is quite and the even let you check out and come back and shower before heading on.
