This hostel is very conveniently placed near the centre of town, the lake and all amenities and easily reached by public transport from the airport or station. Don't expect a 4star hotel it is a hostel. Having said that there will be a mix of people - I have been lucky on all my visits and my students have enjoyed their stays.

Sure the place was cleanish, but was super expensive without the card, didnt think that this was an HI Hostel, I dont care really who my room mates are, but I was here in the early Winter and was roomed with a complete psyco, who screamed all night about death and jail and so forth, this is her regular routine and apparently I found out later that shes been living there for about a month. This Hostel houses the local crazies during the off times to help finance them through the tougher times. Was not impressed and actually concerned for my saftey aswell. There was a couple of other questionable characters around the place, who have been staying there aswell, its all good till you have to share a bunk with them. I wouldnt recoment this one to people I hate.

This hostel was located near the lake and a park which is nice. The facilities were pretty good: you got a big locker with one of those electronic keys. The downside is the lockout which is strictly enforced in a kinda wierd scary way (they announce it in french over the P.A.) There's a kitchen, but the stove top is coin operated! It took me forever and a couple of tokens that you get at the front desk to make my meal. Also, there is a common area with tv and stuff, but nobody was ever in there. Not really a 'meet people' kind of place. I didn't really like the beurocratic feel, I tend to like hostels to be more friendly and less business-like.

This being my first hostel abroad turned out to be very clean, tidy and safe. You are given an electronic dorm key which also operates your own locker which can take two medium suit cases so personel possesions can be locked away. The staff are very helpfull and the breakfast very basic; cornflakes. orange juice, two rolls, butter, jam and coffee but still excellent value for Geneva.Three minutes walk from hostel on the junction of Rue des Paquis and Rue de I`Ancien Port is "Migros" where you can buy all your provisions and cheaper wine. Try not to get a dorm facing the road which can be noisy.

This hostel has a nice modern air to it. The "two single bed, one bunk-bed" layout of the rooms was great for my family and me. The game room/ longue downstairs was also very nice. All in all, a nice place to spend your stay in Geneva.

I found the facilities okay: beds, kitchen, and showers. The staff were generally friendly. The place is pretty big making it hard to meet people. The price was a bit steep, but so is everything in Switzerland. The problems I had with the place are as follows. The showers smell funny. Also, do not do your laundry there! The laundry room smells of urine and the dryer uses the air in the room to dry your clothes. After, your clothes smell of urine too. To summarize, the place is okay but the laundry facilities STINK.

Family room overlooking the lake, clean and comfy, really helpful staff. Food good and in August two minutes from one of the Festival venues with live free music in the evening.

My favorite city hostel anywhere.

Second time in a youth hostel, first was great, this time: horrible. I would never go back there even if they would pay me. I had to sleep with people that were high on weed. The beds smelled horrible. I didnt sleep the whole night. Got up at 630am, had breakfast and left so i wouldnt have to come back. The whole hostel smelled horrible, wierd people also. I would save a bit more money and pay a better place. Good thing there is no curfew.

Thought this hostel was very good - arrived without a booking and managed to find my hubby & I a double. Comfy bed, clean bathroom, balcony overlooking the lake. Great facilities - good location. Would definately stay here again.
