Originally a high school this makes an unusual hostel but it has been refurbished well.

Excellent dining room with ample kitchen but unfortunately the menu never changed during my stay so eating in can wear a bit thin.

Fortunately the town is only a ten minute walk with plenty of take aways and a late grocer.

Room was spot on with own shower and toilet across from it.

Staff very nice even to a very irritating hosteller who thought her ' room wasn't clean enough', (this is rubbish-they are very clean).

Great for kids as there is a games room and huge garden with woods - my kids found a tree house.

Not very well sign posted if you are coming from the east so take a 2nd left turn after you leave the bridge, opposite the fish and chip shop.

Don't forget to walk along the castle walls, it's free and fills in a good half hour when the kids are bored.

Very friendly reception, welcoming and informative. Food was good and the location to the center of town was great, about a 10 minute walk at the most, with great views on the way down. Had a bit of difficulty finding the place since we were driving, but signs are posted, and the area's residents are friendly. Large place and rooms. We had a room with two bunkbeds. They were comfortable. Facilities were great. Only negative was that our room smelled sour, maybe the prior visitor had too good a time the night before? Great place for

families, since they have provisions such as a kids menu,

games room & family rooms. Would go there again. Enjoyable place.
