BUG review
This hostel is an old stone schoolhouse on a hill overlooking Corris village. It has a lot of character and a laid back atmosphere. Accommodation is in big dorms with old metal bunk beds and facilities include a small kitchen and a cosy lounge with a log fire.

These guys have got it just right, informal yet efficient. Lovely old schoolhouse with log fires, top nosh and located at the foot of cadair idris and a pleasant walk from the centre for alternative technology. Can`t wait to get back next summer for their yurt building course. Big up the co-op crew!!

This environmentally friendly hostel is certainly a great experience. The hostel is a converted school, and the rooms (although a little cramped) were clean and warm.A bit out of the way, but cute little village and some great walking. Nearby to the Teepees and the Sustainable Energy place.Rather tricky to find (really needs a big sign on the fence/wall at the front), and not much parking at the hostel. Although you can park at the railway and walk up (steep) hill - be sure to drop your packs off first!Breakfast was good - costs extra though. Great cooking facilities. Rather relaxed staff. Pub at the bottom of the hill is good for food and a few drinks.

I stayed for 4 nights and absolutely loved it!The views are really fantastic. Went for early morning walks each day, totally breathtaking!Twee little village, one post office, one pub, and an armour (as in suits of armour as far as I could gather but it wasn't ever open during my stay) shop but that was about it plus a bus every 1hr 45mins and a primary school. Also, scarily, there seemed to be more graves than people actually living in Corris, but what it lacked in "life" it more than enough made up for it in charm!Youth hostel itself was nice with pretty gorgeous food. Communal showers in our building but this was the annexe not the main Youth Hostel building so not sure what facilities are like up there. As you can tell, I really did enjoy my stay there and want to go back, VERY soon! I'm missing Corris!
