This is an excellent hostel, with the most superb view of any hostel in Wales! A valley with an exquisite lake, a high craggy mountain opposite, and a wooded hillside owned by the hostel on which you can walk up a track to an even better view! The hostel is a comfortable building with a dining room, comfy lounge without TV and a bar. That evening it was occupied by a large group of young teenage girls from one of Britain's poshest schools, but I didnt have much contact as solo travellers were in an annexe. This was equally comfortable with its own kitchen/dining/sitting room which proved quite sociable. The 6 of us were mostly there for walking; a track up Snowdon starts 2 km away. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Large house set in a quiet location with great views close to Snowdon. Atmosphere and staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the standard of some of the rooms was poor and in desparate need of refurbishment with noisy plumbing that can disturb your sleep. The hygene standards in the members kitchen were very poor and some of the showers not much better. Otherwise would have been a nice hostel

Large solitary house, set back into the hillside overlooikng the valley and the slopes of the Snowdon range.

Quiet. no local amenities, unless you travel out to Capel Curig shop, or Beddgelert, but definitely something to be experienced

Sleeping accomodation good. Direct access to hills.
