BUG review
This well located hostel sits in a spectacular setting at Pen-y-Pass, which makes it a good base for climbing Mount Snowdon. It is a relatively large hostel with several lounges, a games room with pool table and table football and a bar.

About BUG's hostel reviews
This hostel was visited by one of BUG's team of hostel inspectors who write independent reviews and assess a star rating based on an objective assessment criteria.

We show up unannounced at hostels to write honest and unbiased hostel reviews. Many of BUG's reviews now feature videos and photo slideshows. BUG never receives payment for listing any establishment and BUG's researchers never accept free accommodation in exchange for favourable reviews.

Top of the pass leading down to Llanberis.

Car park opposite has limited spaces, but tends to be empty overnight (when you'll neeed it)

Purpose built and very spacious. Rooms and common/catering areas excellent. Direct access to the Pyg/Miners Track etc and straight onto Snowdon. Try to steer clear at weekends to make the most of this. Beware this is used mostly by school parties, but my experience of them at this hostel is very well behaved, thanks to the hostel staff.

No local ameniteis, excpet fot the cafe open during the tourist season.

Llanberis is excellent for shops/foodH (& Pete's Cafe - check out their website) but is a very windy drive about 15-20mins away

Highly recommended
