BUG review
This tiny hostel on Melrose Avenue is stylish and comfortable, and surprisingly for the location, affordable. The common areas are full of young trendy people glued to their laptops. The small kitchen has a chef who cooks breakfast and dinner. However the hostel is very small and there is barely enough room to store your things in the dorms, which are ill-ventilated and noisy. Reception staff are for the most part friendly, but if the hostel fills up, they have been known to send guests down the street to the Banana Bungalow (which is not such a bad thing).

This is the worst hostel I have ever stayed in! I got bed bug bites so bad here that it caused a lymphatic infection and I almost ended up in hospital. Do not stay here under any circumstances. The staff were apologetic and said they would do something about the bugs. This involved spraying the room with poison and leaving the infested mattresses and pillows in the room. Great ... thanks a lot. It took three weeks for the bites to clear up. What a way to start my trip around the states. I couldn't go to the beach in California as a result of the bites I got at the Orbit. The place is also filthy by normal hostel standards. This spot almost ruined my stay in Los Angeles. I was relieved to get the hell out of there.Don't believe a single review older than 1 year which praises this hostel as I suspect a few years back it was ok. Never ever consider staying at this hostel.

There is so many good things to say about this place! The place is very clean and nice with a fantastic movie lounge wich turns into a crazy partyroom at night! Free beer,barbecues and loads og good touristy-things to do. It is located right on Melrose Avenue wich has great shopping and a short walk from all the famous clubs and bars on Sunset blvd. Perfect if you want to meet a few Hollywood celebs.
Me and my friend stayed here two times and had a blast. The staff is very friendly and we actually ended up going back to Norway,sent a few e-mails,booked new tickets and went back and worked here for 3 months. Best time ever!!!
