BUG review
This hostel isn't as nice as the Banana Bungalow in West Hollywood, but the Hollywood Boulevard location is better and it's just an eight-minute walk to Hollywood/Vine metro station so it is an ideal place to stay if you don't have a car. The hostel is in a former motel and the rooms have that old musty motel feel to them; but there are quite a few common areas including a movie lounge, pool room and some nice courtyard areas and a tiki garden. Amenities also include free internet access (including wireless), TV lounges, barbecues, free parking and free airport pickup if you book for four days or longer. Despite the effort to lay on lots of facilities, the motel-style layout doesn't help the atmosphere and a lot of the rooms have kitchens and TVs, which keeps people in the rooms and out of the common areas.

The Banana Bungalow in Hollywood is awesome! I had a great time staying there. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There are a lot of cool common areas! I loved the free breakfast each morning served in the tiki garden. They also have free BBQ's which is good for everyone on a budget. The rooms are cleaned everyday and even the dorms have their own en-suite bathroom and kitchen! I would recommend this hostel to anyone planning to visit L.A and wanting to stay in the heart of Hollywood. I am so excited to stay there again soon!
