BUG review
Hostelling International’s flagship LA hostel is an excellent place just one block from Santa Monica’s Third Street Promenade. This hostel offers a high standard of accommodation and is one of the best cheap places to stay in Los Angeles. The building has more character than many other big city American HI hostels, but it still suffers from HI’s rules prohibiting alcohol, which hold it back from its potential to be a truly great hostel. The hostel features a fully-equipped kitchen, a nice big dining room with a pool table, a pleasant courtyard plus a good TV lounge and several smaller common areas. Internet access is available and there is free wireless internet in the common areas.

Fantastic location with helpful, friendly staff. Good value and very safe & secure. Get a shuttle to/from the airport. It´s much cheaper than a taxi and more convenient than the buses, costs about $16. Also, the frozen yogurt place called pink berry on 3rd St Promenade is fantastic!
