What can you expect for 100$ a night for two persons?? A shower that doesn't have warm water, a cooker that takes 1 and a half hour for 1 liter of water, no table, one chair, a smelly and dirty room and a filthy bed! They promised to give us our money back but in fact they kept half of it! 100 days travelling, this was the worst and most expensive hostel.

The location of this hostel is great and the only affordable place in Santa Barbara to stay which is the biggest plus. Just two blocks from the bars on State St, you won't have a problem stumbling back to your bed. Cheap drinks or hipper clubs you will have your choice partying with all the beautiful people in this great college town.

The mens bathrooms are dilapidated with shower curtains having holes in them and dangerously rusty drains. The shower heads are old and do no even produce a reasonable water conserving spray.

The dorms had one bunk too many in them and were quite musty smelling.

Overall Santa Barbara was a great time and we needed a place to sleep, but we needed to leave early (4 am) since we were being bitten by bed bugs all night, but definitely worth a stay if the bugs are gone since Santa Barbara is one of the great cities of California.
