BUG review
Big Apple Hostel has a brilliant Midtown location between Times Square and Rockefeller Center. It offers clean basic accommodation with amenities that include a common area on the ground floor with a small kitchen (no oven) and a TV lounge with internet access ($2 for 20 minutes; free Wi-Fi). Surprisingly for such a central location, it even has a small backyard with decking and outdoor seating.

New York is expensive anyway, 90USD for a double room with shared bathroom is a hell of a lot of money, but its NYC so you have to learn to live with it.

Our room was small, Cold...it was February, but it was right next door to the okay shared bathrooms. At the time we visited the elevator was being renovated....so a hike up 4 flights of stairs can be trying!

The kitchen is small and basic - didnt use it.

The internet is a good idea and they had wifi, but sometimes the connection diddnt work, by this stage you have already fed your precious dollar notes through the machine....the staff felt it wasnt their problem. Easy answer...go the otherside of Times Square and use Easy Internet or check your yahoo mail free in the Time Square Vistors centre.

Location is key here, a stones throw away from Times Square you are in the heart of the hustle and bustle. Theres a couple of good delis next door, a starbucks down the street and then there you are in Times Square.

Would I stay again - Yep, the location is perfect.
