I was really impressed by Coral View. The staff are friendly and highly professional, and it's the most well organised place I've stayed in Fiji to date. There's a wide range of activities that operate to a pretty sound timetable. My bure was a little dinky (woven reed walls on the outside, but lined with plastic tarpaulin inside, and although it had a bolt on the outside there was no means of locking it) but it was comfortable and the housekeeping staff did a really efficient tidy up every morning. Electricity seemed to be on for most, if not all, of the time. Excellent large sand-floored dining/bar/lounge area, great travel desk and I thought the little shop where you could get sulus, T shirts and essential items of toiletries was a very good idea. Drip-pot coffee was a delightful luxury, and the home baked cakes and breads made in the very clean looking kitchen were great. Though the little bay is a bit sparse and rocky, there's an interesting reef dropoff where the resort boat comes in, and a short track takes you to the main beach of Tavewa. From there it's about 20 minutes walk to fantastic snorkeling at the south-eastern point of the island. And the Blue Lagoon is a short boat ride away. When I stayed, in June 06, that was priced at a very reasonable $5 per person. I'd recommend this resort to anyone visiting the Yasawas.
