Tucked behind a building on Queen Street, Kiwi International is a hotel/hostel hybrid with a big drive-up entrance. Parking is available to hostel guests for $5 per day. The lobby has a travel desk and the Kiwi Kai bar/café, and there’s a lounge with a pool table and air hockey table. It’s an older property, more readily apparent in the backpackers’ part, which could stand some renovation. Rooms are basic, and most have en suite facilities. Prices are low and the location on the uptown end of Queen Street, right by K Road is good. There’s not much social atmosphere, though – it feels more like a hotel than a hostel.
