BUG Review
Pentlands is a big blue house on a quiet cul-de-sac in Mount Eden. It’s kept in pretty good shape, with a nice TV/common lounge showing off a bit of charm; nice old fixtures are intact, including a fireplace. There’s also a good-sized kitchen and dining area, as well as an outdoor deck for sunning and eating. A tennis court is on the grounds, but was being used for parking when we visited. A fair number of the guests at Pentlands are longer-term, doing temporary work in Auckland, which gives it a bit more of an insular feel than some other hostels. Still, it’s a comfortable place away from the noise and bustle of the city centre.
