BUG Review
The YMCA is in a large modern building above a great street side café. The dorm rooms are spacious and immaculate. They have lockers, recessed reading lights and thick mattresses. Bathrooms are also well maintained and clean. There is an on-site gym, squash court and climbing wall, as well as a restaurant. It has a slightly institutional feel, though, and the kitchen is far too small for the amount of guests staying here.

We were very happy with our stay here! The location is very central bang opposite the Arts Center. We had a double room with shared bathroom on the 5th floor. A plus was that we got the corner room with view of the Arts Center and the botanical gardens. Our first reaction on entering the room was "Wow!". It was very clean with towels, soap and a table and 2 chairs. There was even a cupboard in the corner!! All for just $60!!! Even though the bathroom was shared, we never had to wait for it to be empty so never felt as if it was shared. A very good value for money.Only con is that the kitchen was very small and ill-equipped. I guess they would prefer people to use their cafeteria! Good laundry facilities though.In any case, we would definitely stay there again if we return to Christchurch.
