The Marine Backpackers is a clean and well-maintained hostel above a pub. It has all the usual facilities such as Internet access, TV lounge and a kitchen. It is located at Sumner, a seaside suburb 20-minutes by bus from the centre of Christchurch. There are plenty of shops and cafés nearby.
